Soroptimists from all over the South West travelled to Taunton to take part in this year’s Regional Development Day. Delegates experienced a range of presentations and activities throughout the day, an outline of which is below. President Margaret welcomed everyone to the event and presented flowers to the outgoing regional officers.
A 20 question table activity tested delegate’s knowledge of soroptimism at local, regional, federation and international level.

Soroptimist Sally from SIGBI (national federation) zoomed in to guide delegates through using ‘The Hub’. Her script is SI South West and Channel Islands tour of the Hub Sally Higgins
Soroptimist Jane from St Austell & District led the Membership activity which generated lots of discussion at tables. The activity sheet is here.
SI Taunton organised the lunch arrangements and as usual they did a wonderful job! Our thanks to those that provided us with such a lovely meal.
President Elect Daphne from Tiverton encouraged delegates to relax with some gentle exercises after lunch.
The formal part of the day followed with the Regional Business Meeting.
A joint presentation came next from Soroptimists Ivete (SI Bristol) and Jennie (SI St Austell & District). They spoke about social media usage for clubs and how to make the best of club websites.
